The UK Mela Festivals are a summer highlight with tens of thousands turning up to celebrate music, dance and the wider arts from around the world.

Preeya Kalidas is a British singer and actress famed for her roles in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Bombay Dreams, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat & in the soap opera EastEnders.

“Shimmy” was her first release taken from her debut album (I’m Over It) Constant Craving. Shortly after her music career launch Kalidas was awarded the Best Female Act award at the UK Asian Music Awards.

Preeya toured the cities of Bradford, Leicester, Luton, East London to promote her debut as a pop artist, ending with the biggest festival of them all, the London Mela. Choreography on her music video was developed to a full live festival stage performance.

Preeya was supported by award winning Mumzy Stranger & H Dhami from the pioneering Rishi Rich Productions who have launched talents such as Jay Sean to worldwide mainstream success.
